SENIORS | Hailey

So, Hailey is the niece of a close friend of mine here in Monterrey. I was told they were spring breaking as a family in Cancun, and wanted to score Senior portraits on the picturesque streets of Monterrey on Saturday before heading back to Dallas the following morning. (Ok I added the picturesque streets part) but they were SO right to want to get them done here! I had been casually location scouting for the past couple weeks around my neighborhood, and couldn't wait to take her to my new favorite street style spots. Hailey is the happiest, go-free, bundle of joy...your cheeks will start hurting a bit around 40 minutes, her smile is that contagious.

What a gem.

Lady in Waiting | Lace&Tulle Editorial

"Lady in Waiting" tells the story of falling in love with all the different versions of yourself, when you stop looking for Mr. Right. There's beauty in imperfection, and there's beauty in being the complex figures we naturally are as women. I originally found my inspiration for this editorial through Diane Coffee's song which is featured in the sneak peek promo below. As I heard it the first time, it rang such a variety of emotions: tenderness, vulnerability, romance. It sounded like a lullaby, but a plea for help at the same time. I began to craft a concept of showcasing 4 different dresses that are really telling the story of different (and yes stereotyped) female traits: The Damsel in Distress, The Girl Next Door, The Romantic, and The Primadonna. Don't worry about picking which one you are, chances are, you're all of them.

Force of Nature | Editorial

I first met Adriana at the Cecy Young Workshop last fall where she was the stylist for the shoot. Some of her own Malaquita Wear designs were included in the model's wardrobe for the day, giving us an impressive preview of her talent. You may recall, Adriana was also the stylist for my big Ralph Lauren-inspired editorial last December, "Collegiate." Promising to work together again, I signed on to collaborate with her for a showcase editorial to kick off the new year right. Visiting her showroom, I drooled over her decadent evening gowns and whimsical pocket skirts. Everything felt so crafted and finely made, designed to fit a true woman. We each had our favorite pieces we wanted to include, and had a hard time narrowing it down to 5 looks for our urban outskirt desert location. Our friends at Orange Marketing helped us cast the perfect face and with everything in its place I began to craft "Force of Nature."
